There are a selection of resources below, including some which we normally use in school, to support the children in learning their spellings.

Children in the wordshark group should have already been provided with their spellings for this week. New spellings for wordshark will be uploaded next week (w.b 30.03.20).

Below are some resources to help children with the first 100 High Frequency Words.

Inverted Commas

Although some children may already know how to use inverted commas (speech marks) to show speech in their writing, we are yet to formally teach this objective. The resources below will support the children in their understanding of how and when to use inverted commas. In particular, the powerpoint is a great resource to use and is what we would use in class.

There are lots of different tricky rules to remember when using inverted commas, so in Year 3 we concentrate on making sure the children have a strong understanding of using inverted commas. The children will learn the other rules of speech throughout Key Stage 2.

Audible

If you are unaware of Audible, Audible is a resource that is typically used for listening to audio books. It runs in conjunction with Amazon.

In light of the recent closures, Audible have ensured that all children's stories are free to download and listen to. This is a separate service to the subscribed membership so if you wish to access this and you are not normally an Audible user, please ensure that you use the below link only.
