Foodbank Collection on Tuesday 30th March 2021

Foodbank Collection

As you are aware, St. Matthew’s C of E (Aided) Primary has been working in partnership with Leeds North and West Foodbank for many years now.  Unfortunately, due to current circumstances, our School Council cannot operate as normal and therefore we have been unable to do our regular collections at the gate.  Our fantastic SMART Team however have organised two collections to date this academic year which have been hugely beneficial to the community during these difficult times.

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to our collections so far. In total we have collected over 580kg of food – that is a tremendous amount and, as mentioned, has gone a long way in supporting lots of people and families in our local community.

This year, as we have been unable to do our usual Lenten Appeal to help a chosen charity, we have decided to organise another foodbank collection to add to our total.   The details are as follows:

Tuesday 30th March

Between 8.30-9.25am and

St. Matthew’s Church Main Porch

All donations would be greatly appreciated however urgently needed items are as follows:  Long life fruit juice, sponge puddings, tinned potatoes/instant mashed potatoes, jam, honey and soap.  The foodbank currently has a plentiful supply of rice, beans, pasta, tea bags and coffee.

The SMART Team will be there to collect all of your donations.  We would like to give a polite reminder that social distancing rules should be adhered to and we would also encourage you to wear a face mask.

Participation in the collection is voluntary however, as stated above, all donations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support.
