• A visitor from St. George's Crypt kicks off our Lent Project

  Aanika from St. George's Crypt in Leeds, came to our assembly to tell us about the work of the charity with the city's homeless and vulnerable people. Our fundraising project this Lent, will be to raise money for this worthy cause. 

  

• Ash Wednesday Service in Church

  On Wednesday 22nd February, we all went to church for an Ash Wednesday service. Rev. Simon talked to us about how Christians want to make things right with God at the beginning of the period of Lent. He showed us the 'ash' and demonstrated how Christians will have a cross marked on their forehead. 

  

• Well Being Day Friday 10th February

  February 6th -10th was Children's Mental Health Week, and at St. Matthew's we celebrated by having our Well Being day on Friday 10th February. Check out the photographs of some of the activities the children did during the day. These include yoga, 'calm down' tube craft, watercolours, music, hand hygiene, first aid, clay, The Little Bookshop story time and art to name but a few!
