Careers Week at our school has been a remarkable event filled with energy, learning, and inspiration. Last week, we welcomed an impressive number of visitors who shared their professional journeys and insights with our students. Their stories opened new doors of understanding about the world of work and sparked curiosity among children and staff alike.
We were fortunate to host 34 visitors from various fields, each bringing a unique perspective on their jobs. The week began with a special visit from our local MP Fabian Hamilton, followed by the Leeds Lord Mayor in the afternoon. Their presence set a motivating tone for the days ahead.
Throughout the week, speakers talked about a wide range of careers, from healthcare and engineering to creative arts and public service. This variety helped students see the many paths available to them and understand the skills and dedication each role requires.
Teachers also found the week inspiring. They observed how students became more confident asking questions and expressing their interests. The visitors’ enthusiasm encouraged children to think about their futures with excitement and purpose.
This event would not have been possible without the support of parents and friends of the school. Their willingness to share their time and experiences made a significant difference. It showed students that their community values education and career exploration.
