TEACHING AND LEARNING COMMITTEE (SPRING TERM) - March 2015

SUMMARY:

The Teaching and Learning Committee have been catching up with all the changes in the primary maths curriculum courtesy of a presentation from the Maths Curriculum team. We also received an update on the quality of the teaching in the school from Mrs Lacey and the School Improvement Adviser's report. Encouragingly this continues to improve showing more lessons with good and outstanding elements. In addition we have been following the development of our Early Years Foundation Stage provision as they fully integrate the outdoor space into their play and learning and experiment with new ways of nurturing and developing creativity.

TEACHING AND LEARNING COMMITTEE (SPRING TERM)- March 2016

The Teaching and Learning committee has met and discussed the wide range of provisions that school have in place to support children who face additional challenges to their learning. These are tailored to meet the needs of individual children and kept under constant review to ensure they are working. We then reviewed reports from all the curriculum area leads and noted any issues or requests arising. We reviewed the PE funding deployment and it’s effectiveness. We then discussed changes to SATs the government is making and how to manage them in school. We also reviewed arrangements for transition for September 2016 in the light of our own staff changes. Finally Mrs Hancock outlined the range of teaching and learning improvement drives underway in school and what impact they were having.
